Norwalk Public Library will be reopening its book drop Wednesday to start collecting 13,000 books that were out in circulation when the pandemic hit.
The library will not be enforcing late fees. Branches in Norwalk are aiming to offer books by curbside pickup in a few weeks, but they say customers won't be able to actually enter the building until later in the summer.
Executive Director Christine Bradley says libraries will need to find socially distanced ways to remain a place where communities can come together.
She says she's hoping to start getting books back into circulation in early July. The library also has digital offerings.

Stamford's Ferguson Library is already offering curbside pickup. President Alice Knapp says visitors should be allowed inside by early next month, but won't be allowed to grab the books themselves.
Knapp says over the last few months, book clubs, community discussions and classes have continued uninterrupted, thanks to technology.
Bradley says that's just libraries doing what they've done since the card catalog - evolving with the times.
