Hundreds of students in Norwalk took a pledge this morning to stay away from drugs and alcohol.
They graduated from the city's D.A.R.E. program.
The graduation ceremony took place inside Norwalk Concert Hall located inside city hall.
The students are fifth-graders from schools across Norwalk.
D.A.R.E. stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education.
Norwalk police say over the past school year, four officers taught D.A.R.E. to students.
Police say the program teaches students good decision-making skills and encourages a positive relationship between students, law enforcement, teachers, parents and community members.
Police say they were glad they had the opportunity to teach students a variety of skills.
