Performers in Norwalk are ready to bring the feeling of a New York cabaret show to Connecticut.
Every Friday night for the coming three months, BJ Ryan's will play host to musicians in an intimate setting.
Guests will receive dinner and a show from the venue's Magnolia Room in a town that the show's producer says is changing.
"I saw sort of a need for nightlife, especially in this area," says Kenneth Gartman, who is also a booking manager. "I love this little area, it's sort of shifting so much."
The shows began with an invite-only, soft opening this past week and will continue with a grand opening this Friday.
Organizers hope the shows bring awareness to a side of the town that they say can sometimes be forgotten.
Shows will range from local musicians to Broadway stars who have starred in shows like "Phantom of the Opera" and "Les Misérables."
