A Norwalk veteran was given a special surprise as he rang in his 99th year.
John Kozar walked out of his home on Holiday Drive to find his street living up to its name.
A parade of Norwalk first responders was there with lights pulsing and sirens blaring, all in honor of Kozar turning 99 years old.
Kozar's neighborhood refused to let the milestone pass without a celebration, even in the midst of a pandemic.
"It's a little too much for me," Kozar said.

Kozar's humble reaction was what neighbor Richard Tavella expected. Tavella organized the surprise parade.
"I felt that... being 99 years old, and a war veteran and being self-sufficient; that should be recognized," Tavella said.
Kozar stood in his driveway, making sure to wave to each and every one of his birthday guests.
Those in attendance included his daughter, who drove three hours from Boston. A birthday cake paid tribute to Kozar's service. He was with the first division of the United States Marine Corps during World War II.
"Don't let nothing bother you," Kozar said when asked about secrets he has to living a long life. "Take everything for what it is."
