Norwalk woman turns 112 on Mother's Day
Mother?s Day marked the 112th birthday of Norwalk resident Elizabeth Stefan, the oldest living person in Connecticut.A birthday party attended by family and friends was held for her at the Honey Hill Care Center. Stefan, a native Hungarian, was born in 1895 and came to America in 1913 by way of Ellis Island before settling in Bridgeport. She moved to Norwalk 20 years ago. The 112-year-old is also the 10th oldest person in the United States and 22nd oldest person in the world. She says she doesn?t have a secret to living so long, but credits not smoking and drinking with adding years onto her life.
