A Bridgeport police officer is recovering this evening after a college party at a city nightclub turned violent.
The brawl happened at Club Azur at the intersection of Wood and Elmwood avenues shortly after midnight.
Officials say nine people, including the club's owner, were taken into custody this morning.
Police say the owner was charged with reckless endangerment after officers discovered about 300 people inside, nearly 100 over capacity.
Officials say one officer was injured while trying to get through the crowd and into the club. They say the officer suffered cuts and bruises to his head, but he is expected to be OK.
