State and local officials gathered in Bethany this morning to discuss the future of the Troop I State Police barracks. 

Officials voted in a special legislative session this week not to close the troop on Amity Road. 

They say the closure was initially part of Gov. Dannel Malloy's budget cut proposals. 

Troop I covers 19 towns and cities, including Woodbrige, Orange and Milford.
