An unattended candle is believed to have sparked an overnight fire that damaged a Jewish prayer center and Torah study in Saddle Rock, authorities say.
Officials say no one was hurt and religious books were not damaged in the fire at Saddle Rock Minyan.
Zach Schulman, a neighbor, says many in the community attend service at the neighborhood synagogue.
"For this happen on Yom Kippur, which is a holiday day of atonement – I don't why," said Schulman.
“It hurts my heart," explained another neighbor.
