Officials say a firefighter trapped in a burning home in Woodbury was rescued on Sunday.
They say the incident happened just past 2 p.m. on Ridgewood Road, where the roof collapsed and trapped a firefighter while crews were putting out the flames.
Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department Fire Chief Janet Morgan told News 12 the firefighter was rescued within 20 minutes and the flames were brought under control.
"The fire grew tremendously within the structure, and it was a heavy fire load,” she said. “And they did their best to deal with that fire load, and then when the mayday was called, they were all right there.”
The fire is still under investigation.
