Officials in Redding have reportedly identified the man killed by a Metro-North train.

The accident happened Sunday afternoon when a car, crossing the tracks, was hit by a train traveling on the Danbury line.

Officials tell Patch.com that 21-year old Wayne Balacky of Danbury was killed and three other people in the car were hurt.

Authorities say that after the victims' station wagon was hit by the train, it was thrown nearly 200 feet.
