A lighting strike caused a roof of an apartment to catch fire in Bridgeport Friday.
Officials say at happened at 8 p.m. on Lindley Street.
The fire was quickly extinguished.
Everyone inside at the time was able to get out of the building by the time firefighters arrived. No one was injured.
The Red Cross provided shelter for six adults, two children and two pets.
The fire is being investigated by the fire marshal's office.
