Officials: No smoke detectors in fatal Torrington house fire

Fire officials say the Torrington home where a 68-year-old woman was killed and her husband was substantially burned had no working smoke detectors.
Officials say the fire broke out around 9 p.m. Thursday.
They say Donna Needham, 68, died and her husband, 65-year-old John Needham, was taken to the Bridgeport Hospital burn unit. The fire chief says he suffered substantial burns and is listed in critical condition.
There was still no word on a possible cause of the fire.
Fire officials say this is a grim reminder to have working smoke detectors.
