Officials urge homeless to seek shelter as temps dip
With temperatures dropping, officials in Bridgeport are trying to get word to the city's homeless that sleeping outside in the cold can be deadly.
They're urging people to stay at local shelters if they have nowhere else to go, especially at night.
Alexander Rosa says he recently got out of prison and is trying to make a fresh start, but it hasn't been easy.
"It's sad and I cry because I [want to] ask my family for help and quite frankly I got too much pride," he says.
Rosa says he gave up his spot at a local shelter to an older man with health problems.
