Clayton Hackling, the operator involved in a deadly boating accident at the mouth of the Connecticut River in Old Saybrook last September, was arraigned in Middletown.
The tragic incident resulted in three deaths and the rescue of six others when the boat Hackling was operating crashed into an outer break wall.
Police allege that Hackling operated the boat recklessly and was under the influence at the time. It was also reported that none of the victims were wearing life jackets during the accident.
The legal proceedings have now been transferred to New London, where Hackling is scheduled to appear in court next on Feb. 11.
