Police in Orange are warning residents to be on the lookout after six homes were burglarized in recent weeks.
According to police, at least two homes were broken into during the past two days. The burglaries are occurring in the area of Grassy Hill Road. Police say they all happened during the day when no one was home.
Walter Piechota believes he got a good look at the man who robbed his home Thursday. He says when he came home, a strange van was parked in his driveway.
?I looked up, the fellow came running down the driveway. He said are you Keith somebody, I don't remember the name,? Piechota says. ?[Then] I came in through the garage, walked into the kitchen [and] the door was wide open, the window wide open ? I said son of a gun. He robbed the place. It had to be him.?
Piechota says the man made off with a TV and some cash.
The town used its reverse 911 system to notify residents about the robberies. Police officers have also increased patrols in the neighborhood. Anyone with information should call the Orange Police Department at (203) 891-2130.
