Following Thursday night?s rainstorm, a part of Pelham Parkway was left underwater, making for a tough morning commute.
Several vehicles got stuck on the flooded road for several hours while trying to navigate the tire-deep waters.
In an attempt to lower the water level, the Department of Environmental Protection dispatched work crews. They blocked off the street and cleaned out the drains that had been clogged with leaves and debris that filled the catch basins.
?There [are] always cars underwater here,? neighbor Kimberly Hill says. ?People get stuck.?
Some drivers say next time a storm sweeps though the area, they will park their vehicles on higher grounds.
