Parents in Stamford are frustrated following a meeting that was supposed to yield some answers in a teacher sex scandal case.

Stamford Board of Education members met with lawyers from Shipman and Goodwin, the law firm covering the investigation into former teacher Danielle Watkins. Watkins admitted to having sex with a 17-year-old student at Stamford High School. She is also accused of giving the teen and his friend marijuana. The former teacher was sentenced in March to five years in prison after being charged with sexual assault and risk of injury to a child.

The law firm released a report stating that administrators withheld information, conducted their own internal investigation during the time of the scandal, and failed to protect the victims. 

Parents say they expected to hear news about the investigation into the scandal, but walked away without answers. Instead, the law firm suggested the board wait and have a lawyer representing them before discussing the investigation. That decision left many people upset and confused.

The board's president, Jackie Heftman, says they have to follow protocol in this case. She says the board wants only what's best for the students in the Stamford school system.

The board plans to meet again on May 14 with a lawyer present to discuss the report in detail
