Parishioners gathered at a church service Sunday to mourn the death of a beloved member of their congregation.
Sadie Mitchell, 92, was killed Wednesday by a stray bullet while watching television in her living room. She had been a devoted member of Our Lady of Grace Church for over 40 years.
Fellow parishioners say they are devastated by what happened, but will try to turn the tragedy into a blessing. They also say they will find forgiveness for Jamal Blair, 18, who has been charged with second-degree murder after he confessed to firing the weapon.
Friends will also gather to remember Mitchell at a scriptural wake Thursday at McCall's Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held Friday morning at Our Lady of Grace.
