Black Friday can be a shopper?s dream but a driver?s nightmare.
Officials say that drivers are not aware that citywide parking follows regular rules the day after Thanksgiving, increasing chances of getting a parking ticket.
Since Mayor Michael Bloomberg took office, 793 more traffic enforcement officers have been hired to implement parking rules, creating revenue for the city. One elected official says the city will soon be making a billion dollars a year off of those tickets.
The New York Times has reported that parking tickets citywide have risen 42 percent.
