Parks Dept. cancels Van Cortlandt Park Christmas race

The Parks Department has squelched the efforts of city marathon runners by canceling this year's Christmas race in Van Cortlandt Park. Race organizers say department officials sent them a rejection letter

The Parks Department has squelched the efforts of city marathon runners by canceling this year's Christmas race in Van Cortlandt Park. Race organizers say department officials sent them a rejection letter earlier this week, saying they cannot use the park as a venue for the marathon. News 12 The Bronx reached out to Parks Department for comment, but has yet to hear back on the issue.
