A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car in Danbury on Saturday night around 6:30 p.m., near the intersection of Newtown and Eagle roads, according to police.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities as the investigation continues.

The victim was transported to a hospital but succumbed to their injuries. Police have not yet released the identity of the pedestrian.
