Another new big business is coming to Norwalk. The new PGA Tour Superstore opens this Saturday at 9 a.m. on Richards Avenue. It's the third recent big business in Norwalk joining Wegmans and Target, and the first PGA Tour Superstore in Connecticut. It offers 25,000 square-feet of everything golf. From clubs to balls to clothes. When the doors open on Saturday morning the new store is giving away thousands of dollars worth of merchandise to the first 30-40 people. "$30,000 it's going to range from like a free bag of Mizuno irons all the way to a $50 gift card," said Norwalk PGA Tour Superstore General Manager Alexcia Patterson-Schroll. Osiris Mejia from The Bronx is number two in line.
He's been camping out in front of the store since Tuesday morning with other people trying to get those golf goodies. "If you want to get the best prizes you got to be the first in line and clearly you can see people start camping out at a certain time so you want to make sure you're in front," said Mejia. The store has club fittings. Five state-of-the-art hitting bays, including a in-home golf simulation demonstration center. "We've got club speed, ball speed, carry and spin rate," said Kenner Miller with the PGA Tour Superstore. There's a 1,400 square foot indoor putting green, lessons and instruction. "We've got Chris over here. He's going to show us how to do a re-grip," said Patterson-Schroll. And even Club repair and regripping. You can even get a $299 membership so you practice every day. The first PGA Tour Superstore started in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 2004 and this will be the 78th store.
