Police: 2 shot, 1 dead after overnight shooting in Bridgeport

A Bridgeport woman was fatally shot in the city early Saturday morning, police say.
Police say it happened around 2:20 a.m. near intersection of Stratford and Carroll avenues.
Residents told authorities they heard multiple gun shots and saw two people shot.
Upon arrival, police found an unresponsive woman, 28, lying on the sidewalk along the fence line for 1365 Stratford Avenue.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A short time later, the Bridgeport police emergency operations center received information that a second victim was at an area hospital with multiple gun shot wounds.
The 30-year-old Bridgeport man was reportedly shot on Stratford Avenue near the intersection of Carroll Avenue.
He is in critical condition.
The department's detective bureau is in the process of interviewing witnesses, collecting evidence and notifying family.
Police believe multiple shooters were involved.
