Police: 23 arrested on outstanding domestic violence warrants in Bridgeport
Twenty-three people are facing charges after a citywide warrant sweep in Bridgeport, police say.
Operation Assessment Hill happened Wednesday.
Several department units participated, arresting people with outstanding warrants focusing on domestic violence.
The goal was to inform people that violence, especially against family members, will not be tolerated in the city, according to authorities. Police say they plan to hold domestic abusers accountable.
Victims of domestic violence are encouraged to contact agencies such as the Center for Family Justice at 203-384-9559.
The Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence also has toll free hotlines both in English at 1-888-774-2900 and 1-888-831-9200 in Spanish.
Both services are free and confidential.
