Police say a man from Ansonia has been charged with murdering a Bridgeport teen.
Police said Kiheem Benbow, 21, has been charged with fatally shooting 17-year-old Romain Sterling on Park Avenue on April 10.
The victim's mother, Marcia Sterling, was at the courthouse on Monday for the arraignment.
Sterling said her son was an innocent bystander, in the wrong place at the wrong time. "Justice has been served. I know that can't bring my son back, but at least I know I got justice for my son," Sterling said. "No mother should be burying their children at 17 years old and I'm just praying to God that Bridgeport will be cleaned up and they'll put the guns down."
Police said Benbow’s bond was set at $2 million.
