Police: Approximately 500 vehicles arrived in Shelton for attempted street takeover

Hundreds of vehicles from multiple states traveled to Shelton for an attempted street takeover this past weekend.
It was planned for Saturday night on Research Drive.
Officers mobilized along the Bridgeport Avenue corridor and on Research Drive.
Police say approximately 500 vehicles arrived in Shelton.
Some of the vehicles traveled from New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Vermont.
When the vehicles arrived they were turned away.
The group of vehicles then left and traveled to Derby, North Haven and Orange before returning to Shelton.
Officers were able to dispersed them all.
