Police in Greenwich say a Bridgeport man has been arrested after he allegedly tried to meet an underage girl for sex in exchange for money.

Greenwich police say Wilson Picon Guanoquiza, 42, was arrested following an undercover operation by the Special Victims Section.

They say on Friday, Picon Guanoquiza called an undercover officer who was posing as a 14-year-old girl from Greenwich. They say the two negotiated a price for Picon Guanoquiza to have sex with the girl in exchange for money.

When Picon Guanoquiza arrived at an agreed upon location he was taken into custody by police.

Picon Guanoquiza is charged with criminal attempt of illegal sexual contact of a victim under age 16, second-degree criminal attempt of sexual assault, and criminal attempt of commercial sex abuse of a minor.

He is expected to appear in court later this month.
