A Bridgeport man is facing charges for a homicide that happened in September, police say.
William Davis turned himself into police Monday morning and was charged with manslaughter and assault of an elderly person.
Police say Kevin McKinnon, of Fayetteville, North Carolina was found dead in an apartment that he was staying in Building #2 at Greene Homes on Sept. 12. His friends and family told police they had not seen or heard from him in more than two days.
Police say Davis and a second man assaulted McKinnon in the courtyard outside of the building on Sept. 10. They say the attack was captured on video. The video shows that McKinnon went into the apartment but never left following the assault.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined McKinnon's death was caused by the altercation and ruled it a homicide.
Police say Davis turned himself into police early Monday morning after the department's homicide unit had secured a felony warrant for his arrest.
Davis' bond was set at $250,000 and he was expected to appear in court Monday.
Detectives say they are still looking to identify the second suspect.
