A woman from Bridgeport has been arrested for calling 911 to report a hostage situation that she made up, according to police.

Dorothy Smith, 34, turned herself in Thursday morning and is charged with falsely reporting an Incident in the first degree.

Police say when they arrived at the address given by Smith, they arrested 27-year-old Juwaun Terry for illegal possession of a gun and escaping a halfway house in New Haven.
