A Connecticut man is accused of killing a 23-year-old Baldwin man who was celebrating his birthday at a party in Freeport.
The family of Tyrone Williams flooded a courtroom Friday to face accused killer, Kyzer Langley, of Bridgeport. Monique Anderson said Tyrone was a good kid, who was never in trouble. She said he was her only son, “the protector of all of us.” Anderson said her son was an auto mechanic and a master barber.
Police said Tyrone and the defendant, who hadn’t met each other before, were at a party on W. Seaman Avenue in Freeport when some sort of dispute happened. Police are still investigating the cause of that altercation. The shooting occurred a little bit down the street from where the party was being held. The prosecutor handling the case said in court that Tyrone was shot in the heart.
"I’ll never be the same, never," said Monique Anderson, while clutching a photo of her son. “My son didn’t deserve this.”
A family member of the defendant declined to comment.
