Residents on Roosevelt Avenue in Stamford are mourning the death of a 16-year-old boy, who was killed in what police are calling an accidental shooting.
Authorities say Danny Villeda, a sophomore who also played for the football team at Westhill High School, was going to visit his friend on Friday evening, when he was shot and killed by his friend's older brother in their apartment.
"I know he was a great friend, a great son, loved his mom very much, very family oriented," Villeda's football coach says.
Franklin Emilcar, 20, now faces both manslaughter and drug charges, after a police search of the apartment turned up a half pound of marijuana, cash and weighing scales. The judge kept Emilcar's bond at $750,000 because of the severity of the charges.
