Police: Greenwich woman charged in incident that seriously injured child in her care

Police say Maria Martinez-Aguilar, 25, brought a child who was suffering from serious physical injuries to an emergency room in October 2022.

A Greenwich woman turned herself in to police Monday morning after she was informed of an active arrest warrant.
Police say Maria Martinez-Aguilar, 25, brought a child who was suffering from serious physical injuries to an emergency room in October 2022.
An investigation by the Special Victims Section determined that the child suffered the injuries in the care of Martinez-Aguilar.
Police charged Martinez-Aguilar Monday with assault in the first degree, cruelty to persons, risk of injury to a child and interfering.
Martinez-Aguilar is being held on $750,000 bond.
