Police in Stamford have a mystery on their hands after a man was found dead and his car found on fire.
Detectives say Marco Paoletta, Jr. was found along Vine Road Thursday evening with a severe head injury. Paoletta was taken to Stamford Hospital, but died a short time later. According to detectives, Norwalk police found the man?s car on fire around 11 p.m. in Norwalk.
?Investigators there have determined the cause of the fire as arson,? said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin. ?Coupled with what we found, we feel comfortable ruling this a homicide.?
The medical examiner determined Paoletta died from a gunshot wound to the head. Paoletta lived in the Westmore Condos on Tuttle Street and was well-known to many in the community.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Stamford Detective Bureau at (203) 977-4421 or (203) 977-4417.
