Police have identified a 71-year-old Ohio woman fatally struck by a truck while crossing the street in Danbury.
Dona Kramer, 71, of Cincinnati, Ohio, was pronounced dead at Danbury Hospital Friday.
Police say Kramer crossed Federal Road around 8:03 p.m. from the west side of the road to the east side when she was struck by a 2001 Chevy Silverado.
Police say a witness told them the truck's driver attempted to swerve to avoid Kramer, but was not able to.
Kramer was transported to Danbury Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police say speed may have been a factor and the driver of the truck may not have had a license but is cooperating.
No charges have yet been filed.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Sgt. Rory DeRocco at 203-797-2157.
