A Southbury woman is accused of driving under the influence and fleeing the scene of a crash into another car, police say.

It happened on Main Street South near Flood Bridge Road just before noon Thursday.

Police say the struck vehicle rolled over and bystanders were able to get the driver out of the vehicle. The driver was taken to Waterbury Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle that left the scene-Tracey Rossitto, of Southbury-was found by police two and half miles from the scene. They say she failed a sobriety test was taken to custody, according to authorities.

Police say she also took a breathalyzer test and a blood alcohol level three times higher than the legal limit.

Rossitto was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, evading responsibility causing injury and following too closely.

She was released on $10,000 bond and expected to appear in court on April 21.
