Route 8 in Bridgeport is back open this morning after an incident last night that left one person dead and shut down the highway.
State police say an unresponsive person was spotted on the road around 9:30 pm. Bridgeport police assisted in closing several nearby highway ramps and city roads.
Police tell News 12 that the incident is being investigated as an untimely death with no foul play suspected.
There is no word yet on how the person ended up on the highway.
