Police in Fairfield have issued a public safety alert after they say home surveillance video captured two men, one armed with a gun, stealing packages.
The video was recorded from a home surveillance camera at a residence in the Lake Hills section of Fairfield on Wednesday at 4:30 a.m.
The video shows two men removing packages from a porch and once of them clearly has a silver-colored handgun.
Police say the men in the video first took a wallet from the homeowner's car before taking packages off the front porch.
Police say at least seven cars in the neighborhood were rummaged through between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
Fairfield police say that 85 thefts from cars have happened in town in just the past month.
Police say the suspects used the stolen credit cards taken from the wallet at a gas station in Wallingford, Connecticut.
Police are warning residents to lock their cars and to not approach suspects who are stealing packages from homes.
