Stamford police say a loaded gun was found Wednesday night at a local park.
They say they got a tip about a .44 Magnum gun fully loaded in the bushes at a small park located on the corner of Henry Street and Cedar Street.
Police say the weapon is in excellent condition. They say they will run a forensic test on the serial number in hopes of identifying who it belongs to.
"The park is made for young children," says Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin. "We're very happy to have it in our custody."
Police are asking anyone with information about the gun to call them.
