A man is facing charges following a domestic violence incident Friday near Elaine Drive and Curt Smith Road in Southbury.

Southbury police say a resident witnessed Brian Lambert drag a woman through a wooded area near Elaine Drive, push her into a vehicle and drive off at a high rate of speed.

With the help from state police, officers conducted an emergency location ping to Lambert's cell phone.

The phone was found to be pinging near Quaker Farms Road and Punkup Road in Oxford, about seven miles away.

Police were able to find the vehicle and pulled Lambert over at the entrance to Southford Falls State Park.

Lambert and the victim were inside. Police say he was taken into custody without incident and the victim was given aid.

Lambert's charges include kidnapping, assault and reckless endangerment.

He is being held on a $5 million bond and is expected to be arraigned at Waterbury Superior Court on Monday.
