Police say they have arrested a Stamford man after he crashed his car into a utility pole and a home's front porch this afternoon.
Officials say that 42-year-old James Scates attacked responding officers with a light fixture and they had to use a Taser to subdue him.
Scates was taken to the hospital for observation because of the Taser, but police say he did not suffer any injuries.
Authorities say they suspect Scates may have been under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident.
Utility workers say it could be Wednesday afternoon until power is restored to the neighborhood because the pole carries critical circuits for a large portion of the city.
