Investigators are searching for answers after a man was found dead inside his car on Monday.
Police say Sharva Sanders, 33, was shot and killed on 165th Street just after 4 p.m. He was found inside a BMW.
Witnesses say they saw Sanders attempting to get into a car to get away, even though he was shot. They say that he made it to the gas station around the corner, where he crashed into a gas pump.
Police say another man in his 40s was shot in the chest, but he is expected to survive.
Sanders' mother says her son was a kind and loving father.
Detectives spent hours canvassing the area and searching for clues. They also looked through surveillance video from cameras along 165th Street, hoping for leads.
Police say the investigation is ongoing. They are awaiting autopsy results from the medical examiner's office.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
