Police arrested a Bridgeport man who they say pushed a senior with disabilities to the ground and stole her purse before leading police on a foot chase.
The incident happened just after 5 p.m. Tuesday near John Street.
Police say they were already on duty in the area when they witnessed a man running after the suspect.
Both officers chased the suspect and stopped him at the corner of Wall and John streets.
Police say the suspect, 36-year-old Andre Antoine Craddock, was carrying a purse and that officers discovered two knives on him.
Moments later, police say a man and the victim arrived on scene and identified Craddock as the man who pushed her to the ground and took her purse.
Craddock was arrested and charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, robbery and assault of an elderly person.
His bond is set at $75,000.
