Police: Man tried to cash fake check at Monroe bank

A man was arrested for attempting to cash a fake check at a bank in Monroe, police say.

A man was arrested for attempting to cash a fake check at a bank in Monroe, police say.
Police say Johnny Rivera, of New Haven, showed up at Union Savings Bank in Monroe on Jan. 4 and tried to take out over $3,300 from an account.
Police say Rivera did show proper ID, but the check he used was fake.
He was arrested and charged with larceny.
