Wilton family and officers came to the aid of a bus that was trapped during Sunday's storms, police say.
Police say in the middle of the storm, a CTtransit bus became stranded on Seeley Road while it attempted to turn around.
The bus had come across a section of the road that was flooded near a Metro-North railroad crossing that had malfunctioning crossing gates, stuck in the down position.
Nearly 30 people were inside.
They were forced to exit the bus and go into the water.
Police say two officers, along a mother and son who lived on the road, shuttled all passengers and the driver to the Cannondale Train Station, where another bus came to pick them up.
