Police: New Canaan landlord turned off tenant's heat, electricity
A New Canaan landlord has landed himself in hot water after he turned off the heat on his tenants, according to police.
Dinesh Parmar, 63, was arrested at police headquarters on March 10 after investigators received a complaint of a landlord turning off utilities at a residence on Garibaldi Lane.
The caller told police the heat and electricity were no longer working in the apartment, and that the landlord was responsible for covering the utilities.
After an investigation, police say they determined Parmar had been responsible for the utilities being turned off to the apartment.
Parmar was given a promise to appear in court on March 31.
