Norwalk police said a man from Philadelphia is facing charges for making a fake call to the department.
Police said Maurice Smith, 39, called and told them a woman was being held at gunpoint inside a home.
After arriving at the scene, police determined it was a hoax.
Investigators say Smith is an ex-boyfriend of the woman.
Smith turned himself in to the Norwalk Police Department on April 25 and is being held on a $150,000 bond.
