Officials say two people were stabbed Sunday afternoon at the University of Hartford.
They say the incident took place in a dorm area at the university.
A 21-year-old suffered multiple wounds to the chest and back, and was reported to be in stable condition. A 19-year-old victim suffered a single stab to the chest, and is said to be critical condition.
Police say they do not have a motive yet, but a suspect is in custody.
The university released a statement stating they were deeply saddened by the events. The statement said in part, "...While there is no ongoing threat to campus, we recognize this isolated incident is frightening and unsettling. The University will provide counseling to members of our community in need."
The university said it is currently working with police.
