Police say two gunmen robbed the Webster Bank on Merwin Avenue in Milford Wednesday morning, forcing the manager to open the vault and remove an unknown amount of cash.
Investigators say there were no customers inside the bank at the time of the heist, though Webster Bank employees were forced into a corner while the robbers demanded money. Based on surveillance video, police say both gunmen were males, though one was wearing a mask, while the other was covering his face.
Authorities suspect there was a third person involved who drove the thieves? getaway car. Witnesses say there was a large black SUV parked in the area on Dunbar Road, which is adjacent to the bank.
Milford police urge anyone with information about the suspects or the incident to call them at 203-878-6551.
