Bridgeport police issued a strong warning to college students after a party this weekend in Seaside Park.
Police say undergraduates from Sacred Heart University held a party near West Beach and 'trashed' the place.
Authorities say it took 17 police officers and two hours to disperse the crowd, then city workers had to clean up the mess.
Bridgeport City Council Member Michelle Lyons said that the aftermath of these parties is costly to the city, and that Sacred Heart should be responsible for paying public facilities for the overtime work done to clean the park.
Sacred Heart released a statement Monday that said they are working to identify the students who threw the party and force them to help pay for the cleanup.
Police did not make any arrests.
