Bridgeport police say they are still searching for one of the two suspects accused of shooting and killing a store owner in Bridgeport.
Officers say two men walked into Sapiaos Grocery on Saturday afternoon, demanded cash and then shot Jose Salgado, 57. They say the suspects were seen in a surveillance video fleeing from the store and then driving away from the scene in a kiwi-colored Ford Focus.
Leighton Vanderberg, 22, of New Haven, was arrested Tuesday and charged with murder. He is being held on $1 million bond.Officers say that they are still searching for Treizy Lopez, 18, of New Haven, who is also wanted for murder in the case.
Investigators say that they have been working closely with Bridgeport police, and are asking for the public's help in making a second arrest.
"He was an amazing man and I know he's in a better place," said Salgado's son. "I trust completely that our police department will bring this remaining suspect to justice."
